Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before takeoff.

A practical overview of service area, safety, limitations, pricing, and deliverables.

Where does RangeVector Aerial operate?

RangeVector Aerial primarily serves Colorado's Front Range. Projects elsewhere in Colorado and throughout the continental United States are available by appointment. Contact owner Mr. Benner for additional information and to arrange scheduling, travel, and project logistics.

Are flights conducted legally?

Commercial missions are conducted under FAA Part 107 and remain subject to airspace, weather, access, and safety requirements.

Is RangeVector Aerial insured?

Yes. RangeVector Aerial is a fully insured commercial drone operator. A certificate of insurance is available on request.

How does aerial overwatch work with my security team?

The aircraft operator works to your ground security lead's priorities, relaying observations and, if requested, a live video feed. Aerial overwatch supports ground security; it does not replace on-site security, law enforcement, or emergency services.

What happens to footage from my event?

Overwatch footage is shared only with you and the people you name, is never used in marketing, and is permanently deleted 30 days after delivery unless you ask otherwise.

Can thermal imaging always find a missing animal?

No. Thermal performance depends on temperature difference, tree cover, terrain, distance, weather, structures, and other conditions. Detection, location, and a safe return home are never guaranteed.

Who catches the animal once it is located?

The owner, client, or an appropriate ground team is responsible for approaching and catching the animal.

What does animal search cost?

Animal Search is $250 per hour with a 2-hour minimum ($500), then $125 per hour in 30-minute increments. No charge if you cancel before launch; invoiced after the search; payment by card (secure Square link on the invoice), Venmo, or check. Travel is included within 30 miles of ZIP code 80027; beyond that, $1.00 per mile round trip.

How do I sign the service agreement?

Agreements are signed electronically through DocuSign. Once we confirm your project or search, you will receive an email from DocuSign with the agreement and your Project Order. Review and sign from your phone or computer in a few minutes; no account or app is needed. You and RangeVector Aerial each receive a signed copy. For urgent animal searches, you can also sign on our device on scene.

How are files delivered?

Depending on the project, deliverables may include edited images, video, raw imagery, maps, models, and available flight tracks. Large files are delivered through a secure, password-protected download link.

Can you fly anywhere on short notice?

Not always. Airspace authorization, temporary flight restrictions, weather, terrain, property access, and operational risk may affect whether and when a flight can occur.

Do you provide surveying or engineering certification?

RangeVector Aerial provides aerial data and visual documentation. Unless explicitly contracted through an appropriately licensed professional, deliverables are not certified surveys or engineering opinions.
